About Betty
Betty Herrmann was born in St. Paul, MN in 1923. She attended Summit School and earned a bachelor's degree in zoology from Smith College. She then returned to St. Paul where she met Henry Cowie, whom she married in 1948.
Family history was always fascinating to Betty, even when she was very young. She had no close relatives in her generation, so she became the steward of the family archives.
She currently lives in Minnesota and has recently been working on digitizing photographs, letters, and other pieces of family history. She welcomes hearing from anyone interested in these materials; the images and documents on the website are just a fraction of what she inherited from Frieda and other relatives.
