"Henriette's Story"

Henriette Waldthausen, Clara Holterhoff's Mother, grew up in Essen but after her marriage moved to Cologne where her husband, Robert Tugenhold Holterhoff, went into business with her brother, Otto Waldthausen.
This wonderful story written by Clara Holterhoff Willius about her mother, Henriette Waldthausen, was a gift to her neice Ida Holterhoff Holloway in 1914.
Frieda writes in her scrapbook:

"Very good and well worth reading. pages1-2 the famous 'Schinderhannes' story of a noted robber who 'saved Johanne Wilhelm Waldthausen' from other robbers.
Starting page 4 about Grandmother Clara's brothers and sisters and their life together at the Clarenburg.
Good picture of Grandma's childhood and then leaving the Clarenburg for America."

Ernst [212], Julius [206] and their sons, on page 2, are on the Essener branch of the family tree. Clara's brothers and sisters can be found under siblings.
